BIOL 314 - Population and Community Ecology (3) Introduction to the quantitative description of populations and communities, as well as the use of mathematical models to understand the dynamics of populations and communities. Links comparative, experimental and theoretical approaches to understanding the abundance and distribution of organisms and their interactions.
Prerequisites: Biology majors: BIOL 251 and BIOL 253L , or BIOL 273 ; BIOL 252 and BIOL 254L , or BIOL 274 . All other majors: BIOL 151 or BIOL 172 ; BIOL 152 or BIOL 171 ; BIOL 252 and BIOL 254L , or BIOL 274 . All prerequisites must be completed with a “C” (2.0) or better.
